inizi degli anni '70 nella stazione radio il parco antenne agli inizi degli anni '70 correvano gli anni sessanta,quando, curiosando tra gli apparati di mio padre giovanni, fui attratto, direi quasi catturato da una misteriosa scatoletta di metallo con tanto di manovella, manopole e scala parlante, tanto diversa dai radio ricevitori che avevo visto fino ad allora, quelli di legno per intenderci , quelli da cui si sentivano il giornale radio, alberto sordi e tanta musica. ma questa scatoletta di metallo che poi seppi chiamarsi nientemeno the ducati ar-18 era un’ altra cosa, che non era il solito cassone casalingo di legno impiallacciato, non vestiva abiti borghesi, ma una sublime livrea di un verdazzurro craclè ,fatale imprinting che ti accompagna per tutta la vita. ed infatti, fu amore a prima vista e l’ inizio di un meraviglioso cammino attraverso i sentieri spesso impervi e drammatici della storia. poco tempo dopo, agli albori degli anni settanta, mio padre, assieme agli amici fidati, cominciò ad approfondire gli studi di radiotecnica per ottenere la patente da radioamatore e relativa licenza di radioamatore. frequenti erano le serate in cui si riunivano per dedicarsi allo studio dell’ elettronica e la stanza si animava, come per incanto, di voci, suoni, note telegrafiche che sembravano provenire dai confini del mondo, trasportate dalla magia quasi amniotica dell’etere. non solo, ma arrivavano anche le voci dei pionieri dello spazio, più passava il tempo e più la curiosità diventava passione, desiderio di apprendere, di essere protagonista e non semplice spettatore o tuttalpiù comparsa. solo pochi mesi e giovanni supera brillantemente gli esami di radioamatore. col nominativo di i1-gii allestisce in soffitta la stazione radio, spiato costantemente dal sottoscritto durante tutte le fasi di progettazione e costruzione di antenne e tutto quanto serve a far funzionare la radio. negli anni a venire, mi aggrego a lui ed ai suoi amici nel meraviglioso ed locali, al primo piano di un antico palazzo, erano gremiti e le bancarelle erano piene di surplus militare (la guerra era finita da appena da venticinque anni) in ogni dove si scorgevano montagne di pannelli di color nero raggrinzante, strumenti manopole e potenziometri che ruotavano in modo preciso e vellutato, quando mi ritrovai tra le mani un trasmettitore surplus “command set” utilizzato durante la seconda guerra mondiale nei bombardieri quadrimotori b-17, sentii che dentro di me era nata la passione per gli spazi infiniti delle onde elettromagnetiche. it was in the sixties, when space pioneers arriving. the more time passed by the more curiosity became passion, desire to learn, to be protagonist and not only spectator or at the most an assistant. only a few month later giovanni passes with outstanding result his radio amateur under the name of i1-gii in the attic sets up the radio station, constantly spied by the under signed during all the faces of planning, construction of antenna and all that be done to make a radio work. in the following years i joined him and his friend in the marvellous and facinating roaming between fairs shows and electronic markets. (i remember with pleasure, and a bit of nostalgia) the mantova, gonzaga fair the atmosphere was indisrivably full of enthusiasm the room at the first floor of an ancient building where paked and the benches where full army surplus, only twenty five years had passed since the war had ended, and heaps of the american bc-611, handie talkie could be found every where along with many other items that today are very rare. in those days surplus was an unending source of top quality components and radio amateur giovanni included, would supply themselves abundantly with surplus to build their transmitters. i naturally was uncurably contaminated and inebriated by olive-drab fascinating black panels instruments, knobs and potentiometers that turned in a smooth even motion when i found myself holding a surplus transmitter “command set” used in during the second war world in the four engine b-17 bomber . i felt that in me was born the passion for the infinite spaces of electro-magnetic waves. ...
